Driver Information

What to know before you drive at the Apex Motorsport karting center in Bedfordview.

Go-karts lined up before a track session.

Before your session

Arrive at 43 Bradford Rd in time for the briefing. Ask about participation requirements, what to wear, and how the session is organised before you get in a kart. If you are new to karting, say so when you book so the team expects a first visit.

On the track

Follow track signals, keep a predictable line, and do not make contact on purpose. Leave space, and come in when staff end the session. The briefing you hear at the center is the rule for that visit.

How karting works

A recreational session is time in a go-kart on the circuit. You are shown how the kart works, you drive for the session you booked, and you return the kart when the session ends. Call +27 11 743 2772 if you want that process explained before you travel.

Our karting approach

Plain information

Read the experiences and this page before you come. If you need the length of a session or another practical detail, ask the center. We answer from Bedfordview rather than guessing in a paragraph.

Individuals and groups

Come on your own or with a group. Send the enquiry, or call, and wait for a reply from Apex Motorsport. That reply is what confirms the visit and the time.

Safety first

Use the safety equipment you are given, follow track rules, and drive responsibly. Karting is an active sport. Treat the briefing as part of the session, not as an optional talk.

Safety Information

Follow instructions

Follow track staff and the briefing on the day. The notes here tell you what to expect: a talk, equipment, signals, and a session on the circuit. The person running the session can add instructions that this page does not list. Follow those.

Safety equipment

Use the helmet and any other safety equipment handed to you for the session, and wear it the way staff show you. If you want to know about clothing or participation requirements before you leave home, call +27 11 743 2772 or email [email protected].

Track behaviour

Respect track signals, drive at a pace you can control, and do not use the kart to hit another kart. If staff show a signal to slow down or stop, do it. Leave the circuit when you are asked to, even if you wanted another lap.

Before you visit

Ask Apex Motorsport about participation requirements before you visit, especially if you are booking for someone else or for a group. Karting involves risk. Come ready to listen, and do not drive if staff tell you the session is not suitable.
