Cookie Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar storage used on the Apex Motorsport website, why they are used, and how you can remove them. Apex Motorsport is the karting center at 43 Bradford Rd, Bedfordview, Germiston, 2008, South Africa. Questions about this policy can be sent to [email protected] or made by phone on +27 11 743 2772. Read it with the Privacy Policy, which explains enquiry emails and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small text file that a website can ask your browser to store on your device. Local storage is a related browser feature that keeps a short piece of text for a particular site. Both can remember a simple choice, such as the fact that you closed a notice. They stay on your device until they expire, until the site replaces them, or until you delete them in the browser. They are not an account, and they are not the same as an email you send to the center.
Some storage is strictly necessary for a page to remember a choice you just made. Some storage, used by other companies, measures advertising or keeps you signed in on their own sites. This policy separates what Apex Motorsport stores from what another company may store when your browser contacts that company.
The notice on this website
A banner at the bottom of each page says that the site uses cookies to keep the site working, and it links to this policy. The banner has one button, labelled Accept. The banner is there so you can read this explanation before the site remembers that you have seen it.
You can use the website without pressing Accept. The home page, experiences, track notes, driver information, booking form, and contact details all remain available. The banner can appear again when you open another page or return later, because the site has not yet stored your choice. Pressing Accept is a choice about the banner. It is not a booking, and it is not consent to receive marketing email.
The item we store
When you press Accept, the site writes one item into local storage for this website. The name of that item is cookie-ok. The value stored is the character 1. The script checks for that name on later page loads. If the item is present, the banner stays hidden. If the item is absent, the banner can be shown.
That item does not store your name, email address, phone number, the page you were reading, or the contents of a form. It is not sent to Apex Motorsport as a message. It is not used to follow you across other websites. It is not an advertising identifier, and it is not linked to a karting enquiry. Two people who press Accept on the same kind of browser receive the same stored value. The value does not distinguish one visitor from another.
The item has no expiry date inside our script. It remains until you clear local storage or site data for this website, or until you remove it yourself in the browser’s developer tools. We cannot delete it remotely, because it lives on your device.
What this website does not store
Apex Motorsport does not set an analytics cookie, an advertising cookie, or a social-media cookie from this website. There is no statistics dashboard that records a personal click path. There is no shopping cart and no payment cookie, because this website does not display prices and does not take payment. There is no login cookie, because the site has no accounts.
Booking and contact forms do not save your answers in a cookie or in local storage. When you submit a form, the page opens an email draft addressed to [email protected]. The enquiry reaches us only if you send that email from your email application, or if you call or write to us yourself. Closing the page without sending the draft leaves no copy of the form on our server.
Google Fonts
Every page requests the Open Sans typeface from Google Fonts. The HTML asks the browser to connect to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com and to download the font files. We do this so headings and paragraphs display in one typeface on the devices we have designed the pages for.
That request is made by your browser to Google. Google may process technical data about the connection, such as an IP address, and Google may set or read cookies under Google’s own policies when the request is made. Apex Motorsport does not receive your Google account, your search history, or a font cookie of its own from that request. If you block requests to Google’s font servers, the page text still appears in a fallback typeface that your browser already has. You can still read the center’s address, phone number, and email address, and you can still call or email us.
Social network links
The footer contains icons for Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, and YouTube. Each icon is a link to the public homepage of that network. The links open in a new tab. They do not embed a timeline, a like button, or a video player on our pages. While you remain on an Apex Motorsport page, those networks do not receive a click from the icon, because the icon is only a link waiting to be used.
If you open one of those homepages, you leave this website. The network may then set cookies under its own policy, and it may ask you to sign in. Apex Motorsport does not operate those sites and does not receive a copy of any profile you hold there.
Maps
The home page and the contact page include a link to Google Maps for the address 43 Bradford Rd, Bedfordview, Germiston, 2008. The link is a search link. It does not embed a map inside our page, so Google Maps does not load when you are only reading our text. The map service opens if you choose the link. From that moment Google’s privacy policy and cookie policy apply to the Maps page. You can also find the center by using the street address and phone number printed on our pages, without opening the map.
Advertising
This website does not run its own advertising tags and does not write an advertising cookie. If you arrived by clicking an advertisement, the advertising service that showed the ad may have used its own cookies, pixels, or similar tools before you reached us. Those tools are controlled by the advertising service and are described in that service’s policy. They are separate from the cookie-ok item. Pressing Accept on our banner does not join you to that service’s advertising programme. Refusing the banner does not remove cookies that another service has already stored.
We do not buy a list of website visitors, and we do not match the cookie-ok flag to an email address. An enquiry email contains the details you typed. It does not contain the cookie-ok value.
How to control storage
You can delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. The steps differ by browser, and the browser’s own help page is the best guide. Look for site settings, cookies, or site data, then find this website and clear the stored data. After you delete cookie-ok, the banner can show again on the next visit. Clearing site data does not delete an email you have already sent. To ask us to delete an email, use the process in the Privacy Policy.
You can also block third-party cookies, or block requests to font servers, in the browser. Blocking Google Fonts changes the typeface and leaves the words readable. Blocking third-party cookies can affect how an advertising service behaves on other sites you visit. It does not stop you from calling +27 11 743 2772 or emailing [email protected].
If you use more than one browser, or both a phone and a computer, each one stores its own cookie-ok item. Accepting the notice on one device does not accept it on another.
Your rights
The cookie-ok item is not personal information about a named person. Enquiry emails are. If you want to know what personal information we hold, or you want it corrected or deleted, contact Apex Motorsport at the address, phone number, and email at the top of this page. You may also read about the Information Regulator of South Africa in the Privacy Policy. The Regulator publishes its complaint process at inforegulator.org.za.
Changes
If we start using another cookie or another local-storage item, we will describe it on this page, explain what it stores and why, and change the date under the heading before we rely on it. The current website uses the single cookie-ok flag described above, plus the font request and the outbound links described above. A new item will not be used to sell contact details or to build a profile of visitors.
